The EOF will focus on developing effective financial interventions, such as microfinance programs, to improve the lives, independence and health of underserved women.  In low- and middle-income countries, microfinance programs (microcredit, micro savings, and microinsurance) are increasingly being used as an economic empowerment strategy to improve women’s financial stability and reduce their vulnerability to poor health outcomes. As a result, the EOF will help underprivileged women in Nigeria improve their livelihoods and gain socioeconomic empowerment.
